When houseplant help over video is useful
Yellowing, drooping or crispy leaves; a plant that keeps wilting no matter how you water it; white fluff or tiny webs that look like pests; roots creeping out of the pot; or a bright or dim corner and you are not sure what will thrive there. If you can hold it up to the camera, a helper can read it.
What you can show and ask on the call
Turn a leaf over so the helper can see the underside, show the soil surface, and describe how often you water. "Is this over-watering or under-watering?" "Does this need repotting, and into what size?" "Are these pests, and how do I get rid of them?" "Which plant would actually survive in this spot?" You get answers you can act on the same day.
What HelpingHands does and does not do
It does: diagnose leaf, watering, light and pest problems on camera and walk you through fixing them. It does not: send someone to repot or treat your plants for you. For a serious infestation spreading through many plants, a helper may point you to a specialist product or nursery.

Frequently asked questions
- Why are my plant's leaves turning yellow?
- Often over-watering, sometimes too little light or a nutrient issue. Show the leaves and soil to a helper on video and they can usually pinpoint the cause and tell you how to fix it.
- Does HelpingHands send someone to my house?
- No. HelpingHands is video-only. A helper looks at your plant on camera and advises you; you do the watering and repotting yourself.
- Can a helper tell me if my plant has pests?
- Yes. Hold the camera close to the leaves and stems and a helper can usually spot common pests like spider mites, mealybugs or fungus gnats and talk you through treating them.
- How long are the calls?
- Calls come in 10, 20, or 30-minute sessions. You choose the length when you book.
