Get lawn care advice online

HelpingHands lets you show your lawn to an experienced helper over a live 10, 20, or 30-minute video call. Pan the camera across the bare patches, the mossy shade or the weeds taking over, and a helper reads the grass on screen and gives you a clear plan to bring it back.

When lawn care advice over video is useful

Patchy or bare spots that won't fill in, moss creeping through the grass, a lawn that yellows after every mow, weeds outcompeting the grass, or simply not knowing when to feed, seed or scarify through the season. If you can pan the camera across it, a helper can read it.

What you can show and ask on the call

Get down low and show the soil between the blades, the edge of a bare patch, or the weed you cannot name. "Is this moss because of shade or drainage?" "How short should I actually be mowing?" "When do I feed and reseed?" "Will this bald patch recover or do I need to re-turf?" You leave with a plan you can start this weekend.

What HelpingHands does and does not do

It does: diagnose what is wrong with your lawn on camera and give you a season-by-season plan for mowing, feeding, seeding and dealing with moss or weeds. It does not: send someone to scarify, treat or re-turf it for you — you do the hands-on part with a helper guiding you.

How pricing works

You book a session by length — 10, 20, or 30 minutes — and see the price before you confirm. No call-out fee, because no one drives out to you.

How to book a helper

Download HelpingHands, describe what your lawn is doing, and pick a helper from the gardening category. You will be connected on a video call and can walk the camera across the lawn straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my lawn have bare patches?
It could be compaction, shade, pets, drought or a pest at the roots. Show the patch to a helper on video and they can usually tell you the cause and the quickest way to fill it back in.
Does HelpingHands send someone to my garden?
No. HelpingHands is video-only. A helper looks at your lawn on camera and gives you a plan; you do the mowing, feeding and seeding yourself.
Can a helper tell me the right mowing height?
Yes. Show the grass and describe your mower, and a helper can advise on cutting height and how often to mow for the type of lawn and season.
How long are the calls?
Calls come in 10, 20, or 30-minute sessions. You choose the length when you book.
