What you're reading. This document is the Service Agreement that comes into effect, through HelpingHands, between a seeker and a helper for each accepted session. VDGT Consultancy BV is not a party to this agreement; it acts as the technical intermediary.
When it takes effect. The agreement takes effect only inside the mobile app, at the moment the seeker ticks the confirmation checkbox on the payment page and the helper accepts the session in the confirmation dialog. We publish the text on this page for reference, so you can review exactly what you commit to when you book.
1. Purpose and parties
This document describes the service agreement concluded through HelpingHands — a platform of VDGT Consultancy BV — between the help seeker and the helper for an individual video session. VDGT Consultancy BV is not a direct party but acts as a technical intermediary.
This Service Agreement is concluded within the framework of the Terms (Seekers), the Terms (Helpers), the Community Guidelines, the Anti-discrimination Policy and the Review Policy. A breach of any of those documents during or in connection with a Session also constitutes a breach of this Service Agreement.
2. Nature of the agreement — C2C or B2C
The helper's account type is visible on the profile before booking:
- Private helper (individual account): C2C transaction. The Consumer Rights Directive does not apply to the relationship with the helper.
- Professional helper (business account): B2C transaction. Mandatory consumer protection applies in full.
The help seeker confirms upon acceptance of this agreement that they have noted the account type.
3. Formation
- Help seeker creates a request and selects a helper;
- Help seeker accepts this agreement via the checkbox on the payment page;
- Help seeker confirms payment via Stripe;
- Helper accepts the Service Agreement in the confirmation dialog when responding to the request;
- Platform sends a confirmation to both parties.
4. Session duration and billing
Fixed session duration: 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Billed per started 10-minute block. The helper has 1 minute after payment confirmation to join.
5. Obligations of the helper
- Join within 1 minute of payment confirmation;
- Perform in accordance with profile description and category;
- Respectful, honest communication;
- Proactive disclosure if the question exceeds your competence;
- Confidentiality about session content.
6. Obligations of the help seeker
- Timely attendance;
- Respectful treatment of the helper;
- No inappropriate or unlawful requests;
- Personal responsibility for decisions based on session information.
7. Nature of advice
Sessions are informational and practical in nature. VDGT Consultancy BV does not assess the quality of advice provided.
8. Payment
Exclusively via Stripe. Direct payments outside the platform are prohibited.
9. Cancellation and refunds
9.1 Before payment confirmation
Free cancellation.
9.2 Helper no-show
Automatic full refund if helper does not join within 1 minute.
9.3 Technical issue
Refund request via app or [email protected]. Assessment on a case-by-case basis.
9.4 Started sessions
Payment is final. Dissatisfaction with advice quality does not entitle to automatic refund.
10. Right of withdrawal
10.1 B2C sessions
14-day withdrawal period (Art. VI.47 CDE). Pursuant to Art. VI.53 CDE this right lapses upon full performance, provided the consumer has explicitly acknowledged via a checkbox in the app that they lose their right of withdrawal.
10.2 C2C sessions
No statutory right of withdrawal applies in relation to the helper.
11. Complaints and disputes
11.1 Quality complaints
Via review in the app or [email protected].
11.2 Technical disputes
Via the dispute function in the app.
11.3 Reports
Via the "Report" button in the app.
12. Liability
The helper bears full liability for advice. VDGT Consultancy BV as intermediary is not liable for session content or outcome.
13. Confidentiality and recording
Both parties respect confidentiality. Recording without the other party's consent is prohibited.
14. Governing law
Belgian law. Competent Belgian courts or EU ODR (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
